The Old Eidsfos Tavern is situated in the old workers’ cottages on Bråtagata, right in the heart of Eidsfoss. The tavern comprises several cosy rooms that were formerly flats for the workers at the ironworks.
Here, delicious meals are served in warm and welcoming surroundings. In summer, the outdoor seating area is a natural meeting place, perfect for a cold drink, an ice cream or a light bite in the sunshine. The food is home-cooked, unpretentious and full of flavour, and the surroundings, service and atmosphere combine to create a truly special experience.
In winter, various themed evenings are organised, creating social meeting places for people in the local area. These include, amongst others, popular lutefisk evenings before Christmas, quiz nights, pizza nights, cod nights, tapas nights, steak nights and shellfish nights. Live music is also on offer two or three evenings a year.
Groups and private parties of all kinds are warmly welcome. Inside, there are around 75 seats, and a separate room for up to 40 people which can be hired for private functions. In addition to a set menu, both party and catering menus are available.
