Eidsfoss offers excellent opportunities for both hunting and fishing in scenic surroundings. In addition to the large lakes Bergsvannet and Eikeren, there are several idyllic forest lakes with good fishing opportunities.
The Eidsfoss Fishing and Hunting Association was founded in 1931 and manages hunting and fishing rights on land belonging to Eidsfos Verk. The association manages fishing waters as well as small game and roe deer hunting, and is actively involved in wildlife and fisheries management to ensure enjoyable outdoor experiences for future generations too.
Fishing permits
Fishing permits for the association’s waters can be purchased at Eidsfoss Landhandel.
- Annual permit: 250 kr
- Day permit: 50 kr
- Children under 16 fish for free
The lakes contain stocks of trout (not in Bergsvannet), perch, pike, bream, roach and rudd. Fishing is only permitted with a rod.
Look after the natural environment
The association puts a great deal of effort into stocking fish populations and wildlife management. Visitors are therefore encouraged to show consideration for the natural environment and to follow the applicable rules. Dog owners must comply with the provisions of the Dog Ownership Act and take particular care around wildlife and grazing animals.
