The first and most influental foundation at Eidsfoss is formally named “The Foundation for an Active Conservation of Cultural Heritage and the Environment at Old Eidsfos”. It is known as the “Old Foundation”. It was founded in 1979, to fight against demolition and decay, through taking resonsibility for the workers homes in Bråtagata (Garden street). The scope has later been expanded, and the foundation is at present responsible for 16 of the old ironworks’ buildings.
