On the former works site, at the mouth of the Eidselva river, stands the large warehouse building for the ironworks. The building dates from before the 1870s, and it was here that goods and products from the Eidsfoss works were loaded onto and unloaded from barges and paddle steamers on Lake Eikeren, before being shipped out into the wider world.

Today, the building houses the ironworks museum, featuring the collections of the Eidsfoss Industrial History Collections Foundation and A/S Eidsfos Verk. The museum exhibition, ‘Glimpses of Ironworks Operations and Furnace Casting at Eidsfoss’, showcases many of the products that were manufactured at the works and illustrates what life and work were like at Eidsfoss.

In the neighbouring building, ‘Snekkerverkstedet’ (The Carpentry Workshop), you will find the exhibition ‘The Train of the Future – a railway history exhibition’ – which explores the significance of the railway for Eidsfoss and the importance of the Eidsfoss works to the railway. The exhibition aims to show how the idea of manufacturing for the railway came to Eidsfoss, and how the local community changed in step with the development of the railway network, both in Vestfold and across Norway. Behind these stories, which span over 100 years, were visionary industrialists and community builders from both Norway and abroad.

Outside the Carpentry Workshop stands a restored goods wagon, type G2 10332, manufactured at the Eidsfoss works in 1910.
