The Eidsfoss Baths were built in 1908 as communal baths for working-class families and represented a major social advance at the time. Here, workers and their families could take hot showers at a time when very few people had bathrooms at home. Today, the Bathhouse is a place for good conversation and a high-quality sauna, ideally after a cold dip in Lake Eikern, near the power station, where the water remains ice-free all year round.

Idde Sauna is a wood-fired sauna on the raft Idde, next to the steamship ‘Stadshauptmand Schwartz’ at Kølabånn in the centre of Eidsfoss. The sauna has a large glass wall offering a splendid view of Lake Eikeren. The sauna heats up quickly. Just outside, you’ll find a ladder leading down into Lake Eikeren, perfect for a refreshing dip between sauna sessions. Changing rooms are available in the cabin on the steamship.

Aurora Sauna is beautifully situated at Thorrud Camping, just outside the centre of Eidsfoss. The sauna is designed to allow you to completely unwind whilst taking in the stunning scenery. Large panoramic windows overlooking Lake Eikeren, and an atmospheric lighting system inspired by the Northern Lights, create a truly special atmosphere all year round. Just outside the sauna, you’ll find excellent swimming and cooling-off opportunities in Lake Eikeren. Aurora Sauna can be booked both as a private sauna and as a communal sauna. Toilets, changing rooms and parking are available on-site.
