In a warehouse from the 1880s, by the outflow of the river Eid, there is a museum that tells the story of the developments of the industry and the local community at Eidsfoss. Visit it to learn more about the products and processes from the ironworks and iron foundry days. The exhibition is called “Glimpses from the ironworks processes and stove casting at Eidsfoss”, and was established in cooperation with Vestfold municipality museum. In the old carpentry workshop next door, you find the exhibition “Fremtidstoget” (“The Future Train”), that tells the story of the ironworks’ transitioning into a railway car producer.
The museum also hosts activities for children. See their home page for more information.
