An educational and active day at Eidsfoss

Saturday August 24, you are invited to history’s firs “Outdoors’ Gathering” in the world’s smallest city. Entry is completely free and the event takes place all over Eidsfoss between 11-19. There is plenty going on for kids of all ages throughout the day.

Activities for all tastes

You can join climbing in the mountain wall behind Bråtagata or take a look into the world of bees. The Red Cross teaches first aid, where one of the “accidents” is to board a boat, and then to show what you should be doing. Kids can also walk a nature trail or take a history quiz, shoot or learn to handle a knife.

There will also be opportunities for those who like to get to know horses and dogs. Fishing and canoeing are also offers that are popular among many. After an active day out in the woods, up in the trees or the water, kids and parents can calm down with a concert from the local band “Vise menn” and a movie from the TV series “Totally Natural”. In the evening, we will be gathering around a camp fire by lake Eikeren, where we will grill lamb meat, local vegetables and freshly baked bread from the stone oven at Hovedgården. For dessert there will be forest berries. And if the weather is good, a bath in Eikern might be tempting?

Det er en gruppe lokale som kaller seg “Aktiv i Eidsfoss” som har dratt i gang arrangementet i samarbeid med en rekke foreninger og aktører, som står for aktivitetene, som Barnas Turlag, 4H, Skogselskapet, Røde Kors, Jeger og fiskeforeningen, Klatregruppa og Vestfoldmuseene.
