The Pentecost market 4-5 June

THE PENTECOST MARKET AT EIDSFOSS 4-5. June
MARKET, MAGIC, FORGING AND CASTING, STORY TIME AND LECTURE
One of the things many have certainly missed in the last two years is the Pentecost market at Eidsfoss. This beloved tradition has for more than 30 years been a sure sign that summer is on the rise. Finally, the stalls in the industrial area are filled up again with many exhibitors with homemade and short-distance products, but as usual, much more happens. At Eidsfoss manor there is a magic show with Daniel Larsen on Saturday. On the same day, the a juggling and musical show with Mr. Maniac and Mr. Orchestra is happening. The children can also go for a horse-drawn carriage ride, while the adults have a snack in the historic living rooms or relax in the beautiful garden of the 18th-century manor. At the Iron Museum, there are a lecture on the history of fireplaces, and it is possible to learn to both cast and forge. The legendary Eidsfoss waffle, which is baked on a real, wood-fired Eidsfoss oven, is also sold at the museum. On Sunday, there is also a lot going on for the whole family at the market. In addition to forging and casting courses and juggler shows, Julie Vega Dahl has a storytelling theater, where children can hear about Gingerbread Boy and Buttercup. There will also be well-known and beloved competitions such as potato and sack races, where everyone who participates will receive a candy prize. Restaurants, galleries and museums throughout the historic site are open, and a lyre box player contributes to the historic atmosphere. In front of the museum, Vestfold museums offer courses in forging with Svarttrost forge and foundry workshop throughout the market. On Saturday, there will be a lecture on the history of fireplaces and energy efficiency at the Ironworks Museum. Welcome to a beautiful spring day at historic Eidsfoss.
