July 16: Movie night at the Ironworks Museum

6.00 pm – 7.30 pm

The film “Trost i taklampa” is a bittersweet tale of how, in times gone by, the identity and unity of a small local community could be fractured by the return of emigrants who brought new ideas and views on self-expression to the small village. The film explores the conflict between town and country, and the culture and way of life in post-war Norway.

In addition, it is our beloved poet Alf Prøysen who wrote the 1950 book that was adapted into a film in 1955 with music by Maj Sønstevold. Among the well-known Norwegian actors, you’ll meet Grete Nordrå (particularly famous for her role as Elling’s mother in the film *Mors Elling*), Jack Fjeldstad, Willy Hoel, Pål Bang-Hansen, Siri Rom, Astrid Sommer – and many more.

Come and experience an atmosphere of summer idyll, romance and envy – a true classic of Norwegian cinema!
