Instead, we recommend cycling sections of the route as a return trip from Eidsfoss. This still offers a wonderful cycling experience with beautiful scenery, lovely viewpoints and several pleasant stops along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The original circular route is approximately 40 km long and follows both gravel and tarmac roads through cultivated countryside, dense deciduous and pine forests, and along the lake\u2019s beautiful shores. Along the way, you can admire the rich flora at Markenrud, whilst Grimnes and Raukleiv offer beautiful blossoms from cherry and apple trees in spring.<\/p>\n<p>In Hakavika, you\u2019ll cycle past the old power station, and at Sundhaugen you\u2019ll find an inviting sandy beach with excellent swimming \u2013 a perfect spot for a break.
