Along Br\u00e5tagata (The Garden Street) stand the unique workers\u2019 cottages dating from the 18th century \u2013 among the best-preserved workers\u2019 cottages from this period in Norway \u2013 which are still inhabited today and give the area its distinctive character. Nearby, you\u2019ll find Gamle Eidsfos Kro, which serves food and drink in historic surroundings, and Eidsfoss Landhandel \u2013 a traditional shop that remains a natural meeting place in the village. Eidsfos Hovedg\u00e5rd, with its beautiful Baroque garden, is also one of the area\u2019s most important cultural heritage sites.<\/p>\n
In the old factory buildings, artists and craftspeople have set up galleries, workshops and small shops, breathing new life into the historic buildings. Throughout the year, events such as the Pentecost Market, the Eidsfoss Music Festival, the Christmas Market, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events are organised, bringing together both locals and visitors.<\/p>\n
For nature lovers, the two lakes Eikern and Bergsvannet, together with the surrounding forests, offer excellent opportunities for swimming, canoeing, fishing and walking all year round. Stolpejakten (the post hunt challenge) in Eidsfoss is also a popular activity that combines exercise with a journey of discovery through both cultural-historical surroundings and beautiful natural scenery.<\/p>\n
